Week of Compassion
Week of Compassion is the relief, refugee and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. We seek to equip and empower disciples to alleviate the suffering of others through disaster response, humanitarian aid, sustainable development and the promotion of mission opportunities.
Church World Service
We partner with Church World Service in many ways. Through renting some of our space for the Southeast Office, by participating in many special offerings and events, and through prayer.
The Ark is a united ministry that supports people who are on the verge of homelessness. Through The Ark, people are given support and assistance while being propelled to lift themselves.
We partner with several AA groups. They meet at varuous times in our fellowship hall. for more information click here.
Inter-Faith Hospitality Network
The Mission of IHN Athens is to mobilize our community to help homeless families in crisis situations achieve sustainable independence. It is the goal of IHN Athens to give homeless families the opportunity to stay together as a family and the time and resources to get back on their feet.
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Ministries
As a church, we practice the spiritual discipline of tithing. As part of that discipline, we support the regional and general level ministries of our denominaion, the Christian Church (Disciples of Chrst). We support them in many ways: financially through special offerings throghout the year, by participating in regional and general events, and by sharing who we are every chance we get. Athens - Clarke County Early Learning Center
The Clarke County School District's Office of Early Learning provides early childhood education and care to expectant mothers, infants, toddlers and preschoolers. By investing in children and their education at an early age, not only are we benefiting the child himself, but we are bettering the entire community with a globally competitive workforce.
Al-Anon is an organization comprised of persons whose lives have been negatively affected by someone else’s drinking. They have come together with the firm belief that by sharing our experience, strength and hope, we will all be better prepared to handle the present and go on to a brighter more serene future.
Our "Bigger Vision" is to provide homeless individuals a setting where they can address the issues which caused their homelessness and find the help they need when they need it.
The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army of Athens provides emergency services to families struggling to make ends meet in Clarke (Athens), Ogelthorpe, Oconee, Madison, and Jackson counties
