Holy Week 2018
Holy Week 2018
Join us as we celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry to the city of Jerusalem, the ending of his journey. We will gather for our final lenten Sunday School session at 10 followed by worship with palm branches at 11. We will also have a performance by the FCC Ensemble during worship.
Also, at 6pm we have our final Vespers service. Our speaker that evening will be our regional minister Rev. Denise Bell. She will be sharing stories about her encounters with Christ. It will be a wonderful experience.
We gather at 7pm in the parlor as we celebrate the events of the last supper- communion. We will be doing it differently this year. We are going to experience the Stations of the Cross, the ancient practice of journeying with Jesus as he is arrested, put to trial, and eventually killed. We will be mixing in elements of the last supper throughout the stations. It will be a worship experience unlike any other. You are highly encouraged to come to this event.
This high holy day for Christians begins with fellowship at 10am downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. An Easter Egg hunt for the kids will be in the garden at 10:15am. We will continue our fellowship with coffee, finger foods, and celebration. Then, we move to the sanctuary where we will celebrate the risen Christ through worship. We will have a special musician joining us this year. Join us for this special worship service.
