She began her ministry at First Christian Athens in August 2021. Elizabeth was installed as our first female senior pastor in our 146 year history in May 2022!
Elizabeth began her career as a teacher after graduating from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. She later attended Duke Divinity School after feeling a call to pastoral ministry. Since completing seminary, she has served churches in North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC and Oklahoma in various roles before moving to Georgia.
Elizabeth is author of two books, Birthed: Finding Grace Through Infertility (Chalice Press, 2016) and Brave Church: Tackling Tough Topics Together (Upper Room, 2021)
She passionate about building communities of faith who know and love one another well and who serve their neighbors with compassion. She also loves slow mornings, long conversations and chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven.
She comes to First Christian Church, Athens along with her husband, Kevin and daughter, Amelia and son Andrew who love doing life with her and as a part of the church.

Angie serves as bookkeeper and office manager. She joined the staff in January 2016. She and her husband, Chuck, live in Hull. Angie has two sons. She is a devoted grandmother to grandson, Jordan.
Angie can be found in the office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9-12 noon.
Jack Perdue is a conductor, vocalist, and music educator hailing from Sykesville, Maryland. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2017 with a Bachelors of Music Education degree and began his studies in choral conducting soon after. During his time at UMD, Jack had the opportunity to collaborate with many world-class ensembles including most notably the Baltimore and National Symphony Orchestras. He was also the director of two student-led ensembles: a men’s ensemble specializing in vocal chamber music, and an early music ensemble comprised of both college students and community members. Prior to working at the University of Georgia, he studied voice with bass-baritone Kevin Short and conducting with Dr. Edward Maclary. Jack currently serves as a graduate assistant in the choral department at UGA, and is pursuing a masters degree in choral conducting.
Justin, originally from Canada, holds a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI. While at Andrews, he accompanied many choral ensembles and played in the university symphony orchestra.
Justin lives in Athens with his wife, Michaela, and two daughters, and works as a freelance art director specializing in higher education marketing. Michaela is the pastor of Athens Adventist Church where Justin and his family worship on Saturdays.
Cassie enjoys working with babies and toddlers. She has earned the title “baby whisperer” at First Christian! Cassie is a phlebotomist and on Saturdays, she is always cheering for the Dawgs! We love having Cassie a part of our children's ministry each Sunday.
